Randy Melvin Farmer, 60, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Wesley Long Hospital. 

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. 

Randy was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 27, 1948. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was an avid sports fan, especially of NASCAR. 

He is survived by his daughters, Kim Simpson and Amber Nelson, and son, Travis Farmer; mother, Florence Eileen Farmer; sister, Beverly Fields; brothers, Barry and Coley Farmer, and three grandchildren.

I remember Randy in elementary school at Hunter.  I always had a crush on him as he was so cute and so nice.
